For Immediate Release:
GPfour Northeast Series for 2017
From Austin,Texas COTA-March 24th,2017- We are happy to announce another division to the GPfour racing series which uses the Formula Enterprise Van Diemen Chassis with Spec Mazda engine and spec American Racer Tires. The three year plan is slightly ahead of schedule with the success of the GPfour North series and the GPfour South series. We feel its perfect timing for another leg to the nationwide SCCA class by adding a Northeast Championship to this group. The idea of each of these series is to offer organized regional championships that do not require extensive traveling and also affordable racing with limits on tires available to competitors. The GPfour Northeast Series will consist of five double race weekends that will run at tracks in the Northeast quadrant of the country. The results will be recorded on the GPfourinfo.com website so each competitor can monitor their achievements throughout the season. Primus Racing Parts and American Racer Tires will be the main sponsors for this championship and Primus Racing will offer race Trophies at each event along with tire service for the Spec American Racer Tires. There will be special championship awards given out at the end of the season which will be based on points totals and monetary prizes will be based on overall participation . The first Event will be at VIR on April 14th-16th. This will be a special event because it is also a scheduled race for the GPfour South series so we expect a very nice field between the two groups. The GPfour North East Series is separate from the very popular GPfour north championship which is operated by One Formula Motorsports, president Steve Stadel. Each series has separate races and separate points championships but all of the results will be posted on the gpfourinfo.com website. Here is the schedule for the first season of the GPfour North east championship.
Rounds 1 & 2 Virginia International Speedway April 14-16
Rounds 3 & 4 Summit Point Raceway April 29-30
Rounds 5 & 6 Pittsburg Raceway May 12-14
Rounds 7 & 8 Watkins Glen Intl. Raceway June 23-25
Rounds 9 & 10 New Jersy Mtps Park July 21-23
We hope everyone in this region of the country will join in the action as we are seeing in the North and South championships. Already in the South championship we have had over 20 different drivers participate in the first 6 races. Steve Stadel is expecting a really nice field of 20 cars at his first event in May for the Northwest series. If anyone has any questions about the Northeast Championship please do not hesitate to contact me at the numbers and email below. We look forward to a great season in all three of these championships in 2017 as we are really starting to see tremendous growth in the class.
